Via has installed version 5.40a of its AC97 drivers on VIA Arena for motherboards equipped with one of the following chipsets: VT82C686A, VT82C686B, VT8231, VT8233, VT8233A, VT8233C, VT8235 and VT8237 southbridges or a VIA Six-TRAC. The release notes point to the previous release (5.30) so what exactly has changed is not entirely clear.
