Driver Update: Realtek AC’97 A3.81

The guys at Realtek recently released new drivers for the AC’97 sound chip, which can be found on many budget cards and in on-board solutions. The version number is A3.81 and downloads for the different versions of Windows can be found on this page. In addition to the driver, the Realtek Media Player (RtlRack) has also been updated to the same version number. Since we couldn’t tell you what the changes were with the previous release, we also mention them for the sake of completeness:

Changes in A3.81:

• Fix 8-channel noise issue for NVIDIA chipsets.
• Fix “World Of Warcraft” game noise issue in ATI chipsets.
• Update Realtek 3D engine.
• For special customize settings.

Changes in A3.80:

• For special customize settings.
• For modem remote wake up issue in ALI chipsets.
