Driver update: nVidia Linux 0.9.6

Spread the love

Valium and roons write that there are finally new drivers for all Linux users with an Nvidia card. Packages are available for RedHat 7.0, RedHat 6.2, RedHat 6.1, Mandrake 7.1, SuSE 7.0 and SuSE 6.4. In addition to the usual bug fixes, these drivers are also suitable for the 2.4.0 linux kernel.

These XFree86 4.0.1 binary drivers are the result of a collaborative partnership between NVIDIA, SGI and VA Linux. In this initial beta release, they provide optimized hardware acceleration of OpenGL applications via a direct-rendering X Server and support the TNT, TNT2, TNT Ultra, GeForce, and Quadro chipsets. AGP and flat panel displays are also supported. The Build 0.9-5 is compatible with XFree86 4.0.1.
