The DigiD app has been downloaded 2.19 million times and the Government Mail Message Box app has been downloaded 1.2 million times. Just over half of the downloads are done on iOS devices.

Logius, the service that manages digital government products, publishes the figures in its annual report. This shows that 52 percent of the downloads of the DigiD app were made with an iOS device, compared to 48 percent for Android. With the Message Box app, that ratio is 53 percent for iOS and 47 percent for Android.

The DigiD app was released in 2017 and at the end of that year Logius announced that the app had been downloaded 1.2 million times. So in just over a year, about a million downloads have been added. The Message Box app was released in October last year and has been available for about six months now.

The figures also show that there are now 7.6 million MijnGovernment accounts. That is an increase of 10.1 percent compared to last year. In 2018, 82.1 million messages were sent via the service, an increase of 8.8 percent.

DigiD was used 308 million times to log in last year, an increase of 9.9 percent. The number of accounts increased by 1.5 percent to 13.7 million. Availability was 99.91 percent, which means that Logius achieved the set standard of 99.5 percent. The standard for MijnGovernment is higher at 99.775 percent, but that was also achieved with an availability of 99.8 percent.
