Mod creator Kaze Emanuar recreated Super Mario Odyssey’s sand kingdom in Super Mario 64. In addition to recreating the playing field, he also added the ability to throw Cappy, for example.

Kaze Emanuar, known from Super Mario 64 Online and his previous recreation of the ‘Cascade Kingdom’ level in Super Mario 64, has now also recreated the sand level. In addition to recreating the buildings, he also provided Mario with the ability to throw Cappy and travel through power lines. Furthermore, the sphinx is present that provides the player with riddles.

Mimicking these levels from Super Mario Odyssey is part of the Mario Odyssey 64 project, which aims to make several levels from Odyssey playable in Super Mario 64. The goal is for players to eventually collect 240 to 300 moons in the different playing fields. It is unknown when exactly Mario Odyssey 64 will be ready.

Developer Kaze Emanuar is known for his adaptations of Super Mario 64. He has already recreated Super Mario Bros and developed Super Mario 64 Online, Super Mario 64 Maker and an expansion of the original game: Super Mario 64: Last Impact. At the beginning of last year, he came up with First Person Mario 64, where players see through the eyes of Mario.
