Details about Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches with updated Wear OS are leaking

Watch manufacturer Fossil may soon release a new Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch series. These smartwatches have the updated Wear OS from Google and Samsung and get a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ soc.

The information comes from the usually well-informed WinFuture, which shares details and images about the upcoming smartwatches. The Fossil Gen 6 watches would have a 1.28″ OLED screen with a resolution of 416×416 pixels. The watch would also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100+ soc get, with four Arm Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz and a faster Adreno 504 GPU. According to WinFuture, the smartwatch also has 8GB storage, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0.

Fossil would further estimate that the battery of its Gen 6 smartwatches will last up to 24 hours, but would also introduce a power saving mode that can increase this to “several days.” The back of the watch would have sensors, including for heart rate and blood oxygen levels. The Fossil Gen 6 should also become available with housings of 42mm and 44mm. WinFuture also speaks of a suggested retail price of 299 or 329 euros in Germany and an availability date of September 27, 2021.
