The open beta test of Bungie’s new mmo shooter Destiny will be available on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on July 17. A week later, on July 23, the beta test will also be available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Publisher Activision announced this in a press release. It was previously known that the beta test would start this month. Publisher Activision has also announced that gamers have the option to opt for special editions of the game; the Limited Edition, Digital Guardian Edition and the Ghost Edition have been made available. The prices for these versions of Destiny are 100, 110 and 160 euros respectively.

In addition to the book of concept art and postcards that gamers receive with other versions of the game, the Ghost Edition also contains access codes to the first two DLC packs. These will cost 20 euros each as soon as they come out; a season pass will be available with which all dlc can be purchased at once. The price for this pass will be 35 euros.

The beta will be available until July 28 on all platforms on which the game will be released, but will be temporarily unavailable on July 21 and 22 due to planned work. Until then, players can get a small taste of the new mmo shooter. However, to access the beta, players must pre-order the game.
