Denon has announced the Home 150, 250 and 350 speakers. The three new speakers can work wirelessly and via USB or Ethernet and have built-in support for HEOS devices.

The new Home speakers can be seen as the successors of the manufacturer’s HEOS models and offer similar functionality to those models. The Home 150 is the smallest model in the range and it includes a 3.5″ woofer and 1″ tweeter. The Home 250 has two tilted tweeters in combination with two woofers and a 5.25″ bass radiator. The largest speaker in the new range is the Home 350, with two tweeters, two midrange drivers and two woofers.

The speakers can be connected via Bluetooth, WiFi and Ethernet and also contain a USB port to play music directly from a USB storage. Playback is possible in the formats flac, wav, alac and 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz-dsd. In addition, a 3.5 mm aux input is available to connect the speakers directly to an amplifier.

The Home models support playback via Spotify, Apple Music, Napster, Tidal, TuneIn and they can also handle Apple AirPlay 2. With physical shortcuts, favorite stations can be played without having to use the app. The volume and playback can also be controlled directly with the touch panel, which lights up thanks to a proximity sensor when approached with one hand.

Thanks to the built-in HEOS support, the speakers can be linked with other equipment that support this Denon technology, such as amplifiers, soundbars, subwoofers, and other speakers. This is also possible if two Home speakers are coupled in stereo. Denon has added two still inactive microphones to the speakers, but upon release there will only be indirect support via Siri and Google Assistant via compatible devices. Denon does promise to release a firmware update for direct voice control in the future.

All Home models will be available in white and black from mid-January. The Home 150 will then cost 249 euros, the Home 250 499 euros and the Home 350 will have a price tag of 699 euros.

Update, Thursday 14.00: Denon reports that the speakers have two microphones that are not yet activated. These will be enabled for voice control at a later date, with support for as yet unknown voice assistants. The text has been adjusted based on this information.
