Cyanogen makes the apps found on Cyanogen OS devices available separately in a package called C-Apps. Users can then install it themselves on smartphones running CyanogenMod.

Cyanogen provides eight installed apps with the Cyanogen OS installation on smartphones such as the OnePlus One and the WileyFox devices. Those are Audio FX, Theme Chooser, Theme Store, Gallery, Cyanogen Dialer with Truecaller, Boxer and the Cyanogen Account app. With these apps, the company wants to offer an alternative to their Google counterparts.

The Truecaller system in the dialer works by connecting the user’s contacts to a cloud service. In this way, more unknown telephone numbers can be linked to names, in order to avoid telephone advertising and unwanted calls. But for that the user has to share his contact list with the company behind Truecaller.

Cyanogen says users can only install the new C-Apps bundle on devices running CyanogenMod 12.1 and newer. That is the version based on Android 5.1.1. The package does not require a Cyanogen account to download, but some features of the apps do.
