ColorFire comes with Radeon HD 7870 XStorm
ColorFire has released the Radeon HD 7870 XStorm that was announced at the Taiwanese Computex trade show. The card has a Pitcairn GPU that is overclocked by default and everything on board to increase the speed even further.
The GPU of the ColorFire Radeon HD 7870 XStorm is clocked at 1050MHz according to Videocardz and the chip has 1280 stream processors, 80 texture units, 32 rops. The GPU communicates via a 256-bit wide bus with 2GB of memory clocked at 5GHz. The factory overclock is therefore 50MHz for the GPU and 200MHz for the memory. There are also plenty of options to increase the speeds yourself.
The power supply is controlled by an 8+1+1 onboard VRM – probably 8 for the GPU and 2 for the memory – which can be expanded with a 4-phase VRM card. The card is cooled by a cooler that occupies the entire pcb, occupies two slots, uses five 8mm heatpipes and has a 120mm fan. The Chinese ColorFire has also equipped the Xstorm with a double bios and two PCI-e eight-pin connectors.
