Casio announced a watch with Android Wear at CES. The smartwatch has a regular LCD and a monochrome screen, which users can switch on to save the battery. The smartwatch also has a pressure sensor and can be submerged up to fifty meters under water.

The Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 has a function to turn off the color screen as well as all ‘connected’ functions and sensors, so that as a simple digital watch it should last a month on a battery charge, the manufacturer says. It meets a US military standard for toughness, the MIL-STD-810.

In addition to a compass and gyroscope, the watch has a pressure sensor on board, to measure air pressure, for example. The smartwatch also has WiFi. The watch has a 1.32″ screen with a resolution of 320×300 pixels and the smartwatch, like the Motorola Moto 360, has a cutout at the bottom of the screen, so that it is not completely round.

The WSD-F10 should be released in April in the United States and should cost around $500. Whether and when the smartwatch will be released in the Benelux is still unknown.
