Capcom has immediately released next-gen updates for Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7. On the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, the games can therefore be played with a 4k resolution and ‘high frame rates’. The PC versions will also receive an update.

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 4K resolution and high frame rates, as well as support for ray tracing and 3D audio playback. On the Xbox Series S, the games will also get these functions, except for probably the support for 4k resolution. On the PS5 gets the game DualSense support.

It is unclear what exactly Capcom means by ‘high frame rates’. The games were already playable at 60fps on the latest consoles. It may be 60fps at 4k resolution and 120fps at 1080p, but the publisher does not give details about this. Players who already own the games can get the updates for free. Save games will be transferred after the updates have been implemented.
