Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gets 2v2 Gunfight Mode
The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, to be released later this year, will get a so-called Gunfight mode. In it, two players have to compete against another duo in a small space and in fast rounds.
Activision reports that a round lasts only forty seconds. If there are still players alive, a flag will appear; each team then has ten seconds to grab the flag, with that process taking three seconds. If in those ten seconds neither team dies or takes the flag, the duo with the most remaining health points wins. If those points are completely balanced between both teams, the round ends in a draw. The first duo to win six rounds is the winner.
In Gunfight mode, only specially made, small, enclosed playing fields are available. They are the smallest playing fields of all the multiplayer modes that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gets. Activision and Infinity Ward already show three playing fields; four gamers have already been able to try out the mode and have streamed their play session on Twitch. The four players in Gunfight mode always get the same armor and it changes every two rounds. Also, the starting position changes every two rounds.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is basically a reboot of the Modern Warfare series, which last featured a game in 2011. The game will be released on October 25 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. On August 1, the developer will announce much more about the different multiplayer modes.
