The Windows Calculator has been ported to Linux. Uno Platform has published the app in the Ubuntu Snap Store in collaboration with Canonical, but the program also runs on other Linux distributions.

According to Uno Platform, the Windows Calculator port runs at least on Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Linux Mint, Debian, Fedora, openSUSE, Manjaro, Kubuntu, KDE Neon, elementary OS, CentOS and Arch Linux. The app runs in preview on x64, and the makers promise to bring the software to more architectures.

The creators used the C ++ code of the original calculator from the 1990s for the port, supplemented with a .NET 5 part consisting of C # and XAML code. This is a fork of the Microsoft Calculator. The source code of the Windows calculator was released by Microsoft last year .

The resulting Uno Calculator for Linux is not the first port of the Calculator by Uno Platform. The company previously brought the calculator to iOS, Android and macOS. Uno Platform is software to bring apps with a shared codebase to multiple platforms.
