Apple is working on new AirPods to be released this year, according to Bloomberg reports. Next year, the company would launch the second generation of the AirPods Pro.
The design of the AirPods that Apple will release this year matches that of the current AirPods Pro. Bloomberg’s usually well-informed Mark Gurman claims to have heard of this from sources familiar with Apple’s plans.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously stated that Apple will begin mass production of the third-generation AirPods in the third quarter of this year. Apple announced the second generation in March 2019.
The second generation of the AirPods Pro, with noisecancelling, which should appear in 2022, include adapted motion sensors and are strongly focused on fitness tracking. According to Bloomberg, Apple initially planned to release the new Pro generation in 2020. Apple made the first generation of the AirPods Pro available in October 2019.
Apple is not yet working on a new generation of the AirPods Max, according to Gurman. The company introduced this headset in December last year. Finally, he reports that Apple is working on a HomePod with a screen and a FaceTime camera, which also offers Apple TV functionality. This development is said to be at an early stage.
