BioWare is changing its plans for post launch content for Anthem. Several Acts were planned, but they will not come out in that form. The developer says it will focus on solving problems with seasonal updates.

BioWare says there is a demand from players for solutions to “core problems” in the game. According to the studio, these require an extensive approach instead of quick fixes. BioWare writes that a team is working on solutions and that the first results look promising. The studio does not provide substantive details.

In order to make the “long-term plans” possible, BioWare will stop releasing so-called Acts for the game. Instead, there will be seasonal updates, which will include challenges and chases around “fun themes,” according to the developer.

BioWare says it gets a lot of valuable feedback from the community that is active on the Public Test Server. Based on that, BioWare made several changes in the recent Cataclysm update. Balance adjustments, improvements to the interface and the display of scores have been adjusted in this way, among other things.

Originally, BioWare had three Acts planned as an expansion to Anthem. Those Acts consist of various updates and additions. In the end, it took six months for the first Act to be completed with the Cataclysm event. Substantive details have never been disclosed about the other Acts.

Anthem came out in February and was beset with issues. The game contained many bugs and content was criticized. In April, Kotaku published an extensive article about the development of the game based on conversations with BioWare employees. According to the employees, this was accompanied by indecision and mismanagement on the part of the studio leadership and publisher EA.
