Beta users can buy games from Epic Store in GOG Galaxy Launcher

A number of users of the beta version of GOG Galaxy will be able to purchase games from game stores other than GoG itself from Friday. This is a test where players can buy and play exclusives from Epic within the Galaxy Launcher app, and the first beta for that cross-platform sale has now begun among “ a select group of users, ” the company writes in its own forum. It is not known how large this group of users is. For now it is only possible to buy a ‘small amount’ of exclusives from the Epic Games Store. These include The Outer Worlds. Those purchased games will receive the same thirty-day return policy that GOG offers on other games. That’s longer than the Epic Store’s return policy, which only lasts for two weeks. They can also get support with installation, for example. Parent company CD Projekt Red made the first open beta of the GOG Galaxy Launcher 2.0 available at the end of last year. In the future, it should be possible to play games from different platforms in the Galaxy app. In the beta it was already possible to see games and friends from those platforms together, including Epic, Origin, Steam, PSN and Uplay.
