Bang & Olufsen has presented a renewed version of the Beovision Eclipse. This OLED TV was released three years ago and is this time based on the LG GX OLED TV from 2020 instead of the LG C7 OLED TV from 2017. This means, among other things, the support of HDMI 2.1.

Currently Bang & Olufsen only has a 55 “version of the second generation of the Beovision Eclipse online, but there will also be a 65” version. The television has four HDMI 2.0 connections and two HDMI 2.1 connections and runs on LG’s webOS 5.0. The arrival of HDMI 2.1 means support for eARC, vrr and 4k120 images via HDMI, among other things.

For the rest, the design of the television remains largely unchanged, especially in terms of the integrated soundbar. The television still stands on one foot and it is possible to use the soundbar separately from the image for internet radio and music streaming services. It is still a 3-channel system with a power of 450W and the soundbar is now also available in a wood color, among other things.

LG scrapped support for DTS in 2020. It is not clear whether this also applies to the second generation of the Beovision Eclipse, but that is obvious, since the LG GX as a module forms the basis. There is support for Airplay 2, bluetooth and a built-in Chromecast.

It seems that the 55 “version of the new Beovision Eclipse will cost 9,000 euros. The 55” version from three years ago cost 9120 euros and the 65 “version got a price tag of 12,820 euros.
