Asus: there will be no 3g version of the Transformer Prime

Asus has announced that there is no 3G version of its recently introduced Transformer Prime tablet in the pipeline. Earlier this month, various media reported that this would be the case.

Asus say that there is no 3g version of the Prime on the roadmap, despite rumors. The company does let us know that in the future, high-end tablets from the Transformer family will be equipped with 3G connectivity. The company is most likely referring to a 3g version of the Transformer 700. This Android tablet, which is based on the Prime, has a Tegra 3-soc and a screen with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels.

The Taiwanese manufacturer announced the 700 last week at CES in Las Vegas. In addition to the 700, a new 7″ tablet was also announced: the Memo 370T. This also has a Tegra 3 chip, but has a smaller screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
