An image of an ASUS RTX 3060 video card with 12GB of memory has been published. There have been rumors for some time about the arrival of a GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GPU for desktops, but no images of such GPUs have appeared yet.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 TUF Gaming hasn’t been officially announced yet, but tech website VideoCardz publishes an image of the video card. The GPU shows great similarities with the current RTX 3060 Ti TUF Gaming from ASUS; the upcoming RTX 3060 model appears to use the same cooler and PCB design, VideoCardz reports.

The tech website also claims to have new information about the specifications of this GPU. The RTX 3060 would have a GA106-300 GPU with 3584 CUDA cores. That number is about 26 percent lower than the RTX 3060 Ti. That video card was announced in December and has 4864 CUDA cores. The upcoming RTX 3060 would further have 28 cores for ray tracing and 112 Tensor cores.

Nvidia is expected to initially release a 12GB variant of the RTX 3060. A 6GB model may be released at a later date, although VideoCardz has rumored that that variant has been dropped. This gives the RTX 3060 more video memory than the current RTX 3070 and 3080 video cards, which have 8GB and 10GB of memory respectively. The RTX 3080 does use faster gddr6x memory.

VideoCardz claims Nvidia is announcing the RTX 3060 at CES. The company will be holding a livestream on January 12, where it is rumored to also introduce the first GeForce RTX 30 video cards for laptops. The RTX 3060 12GB will hit the market in February, according to the tech website. Rumors have been circulating for some time about the arrival of an RTX 3060 video card. For example, model names of such GPUs have already appeared at inspection authorities .
