Archos focuses on children-News with Junior Tab and Junior Phone of 80 euros

Archos announces the Junior product line and comes with a tablet and smartphone for children. The manufacturer supplies the hardware including a subscription to a parental control application from Qustudio.

According to Archos the tablet is suitable for children from 3 years and the smartphone for children from 7 years. Both devices are supplied with software from Qustudio, with which parents can keep an eye on their PC or smartphone via a dashboard, what their children do online and can impose restrictions.
The use of the application normally costs € 43 per year, With the telephone and tablet, buyers receive the first year for free. Archos also says that it provides a child-friendly search engine, Qwant Junior. In addition, the tablet and phone are provided with the YouTube Kids app and other educational apps.
Both the Archos Junior Tab and the Junior Phone are equipped with an unspecified quadcore-soc with a speed of 1.3GHz for the tablet and 1.2GHz for the telephone. How many ram there is in the devices, says Archos, but there is 8GB of storage space available and that can be expanded with a micro-sd card.
The tablet has a 10.1 “screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels , the phone is a 5 “model with a resolution of 854×480 pixels. It is striking that both devices would use a tn panel. Tn screens have poor viewing angles and are virtually no longer used in phones and tablets. The hardware runs on Android 7. Archos releases the tablet and phone in June and calls a price for both ‘from € 80.
