Apple will launch a small iPhone next year

Do you find the newest iPhones too large? Then a reliable Apple analyst has good news. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would work on a compact iPhone that is only slightly larger than the current iPhone SE.

Small iPhone in 2020

of the iPhone right, but everything indicates that this will change next year. According to the renowned Apple analyst, the flagships will have a new screen format in 2020. The screen of the smaller model (now 5.8 inches) shrinks a bit and goes to 5.4 inches. The display of the Max version is actually larger and goes from 6.5 to 6.7 inches. The size of the cheaper model remains the same: 6.1 inches.

Interestingly, Kuo’s statements are in line with an earlier rumor. At the beginning of April, DigiTimes reported that Apple had iPhones with screens of 5.42 inches, 6.06 inches and 6.67 inches on the grain.

With a 5.4-inch iPhone, Apple would finally release a compact iPhone again. The screen is a lot bigger than that of the iPhone SE (which measures 4 inches), but because the device is almost borderless, they hardly differ in size. We expect the iPhone to be slightly larger than the iPhone SE, but smaller than the iPhone 6, 7 and 8.

iPhone with 5G

Furthermore, the 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone are the first Apple phones that support 5G. Kuo says this. With the cheaper model, this still doesn’t happen. Kuo also makes predictions for 2021: then all iPhones support 5G. And do you already feel like the first iPhone 2022 rumor? Those iPhones may have an Apple 5G modem. Now Apple still has to make do with the supplied modems from Qualcomm.

On the iPhones with new formats we still have to be patient; they will only appear in September next year. First is the iPhone 2019’s turn.
