Apple’s chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer is stepping down in September. The vice president will be his successor. The company itself has announced this. Oppenheimer says he wants to spend more time with his family.

The 51-year-old Oppenheimer hands over his duties to Luca Maestri, who now works under Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer spent a total of 18 years at Apple. He’s quitting to spend more time with his kids and get his pilot’s license, Apple says.

Maestri has only been working at Apple for a year and previously worked for Xerox and Nokia Siemens Networks. He spent most of his time as chief financial officer of General Motors. The announcement comes a day after Apple announced a deal with many automakers for the iOS version for cars, called Carplay. Maestri gradually takes over Oppenheimer’s duties from June until his departure at the end of September.
