The E3 trade show will reopen its doors to the public for the first time since 2006. Organizer Entertainment Software Association has decided to make 15,000 tickets available for public sale, starting February 13.

Last year, the organizer already admitted publicly to a free live event in downtown Los Angeles. This year, for the first time, the public will receive access to the Los Angeles Convention Center, where E3 takes place every year. According to Gamespot, the regular tickets for the event will cost 250 dollars, converted 234 euros.

According to Rich Taylor, communications manager at ESA, last year’s live event attendees were thrilled, but they also had a clear message; they wanted to play the games shown in the convention center. In addition, the game makers in the E3 exhibition halls also wanted access to the fans, says Taylor. Both wishes are now being met by admitting visitors to the exhibition halls.

E3 will take place from June 13-15. More than two hundred game companies will be present at the fair. Until now, E3 has always been primarily a media event. Other major game fairs, such as the Gamescom in Cologne and the PAX game festivals held in America, have been admitting visitors for years.
