AMD driver names unannounced Radeon RX 6500M and RX 6300M graphics cards
References to unannounced Radeon laptop video cards have appeared in AMD’s most recent GPU driver. The manufacturer seems to be working on a Radeon RX 6500M and RX 6300M, both with a Navi 24-gpu. Radeon Pro variants are also listed.
The references are in AMD’s Radeon 21.40.1 driver for Linux, Coelacanth Dream noted. It contains four unannounced video cards from AMD. The driver shows a Radeon Pro W6500M, Radeon Pro W6300M, Radeon RX 6500M and Radeon RX 6300M. These laptop video cards would all have a Navi 24-gpu, VideoCardz writes.
According to previous information from Linux drivers, Navi 24 will be codenamed ‘Beige Goby’. The chip would have up to 16 compute units, which equates to a maximum of 1024 stream processors. A 64-bit memory bus is also expected, with support for 4GB or 2GB vram configurations. Reference was also made to Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 desktop graphics cards with Navi 24 GPUs last week.
It is not known when the first Navi 24 graphics cards will be announced, but it is possible that it will happen during CES. That fair will be held in Las Vegas between January 5 and 8.
