Amazon has announced the second device in the Halo line of wearables. Just like the first Halo, the Halo View is a sports tracker, although the View model has an OLED screen to track activities and see notifications from smartphones.

The manufacturer does not yet give many details about the wearable. For example, it is not clear how large the screen is and what resolution it has. Amazon does say that the Halo View works with Bluetooth 5.0 and gets a battery life of up to seven days. A full charge takes less than an hour and a half. The wearable includes an optical sensor to measure heart rate and oxygen in the blood, a skin temperature sensor and an accelerometer.

Users can track sports activities on the screen, measure sleep scores and blood oxygen levels, and see text messages and notifications from a paired smartphone. Users can swim with the Halo View, Amazon says, but the wearable doesn’t have an IP rating. The device is available with a small and a large band. The small tire has a size of 130 to 195mm; the large tire measures 160 to 225mm.

Amazon’s Halo View wearable costs 83 euros converted with VAT. There is no mention of availability in the Benelux. Certain features require a Halo subscription. This subscription costs four dollars a month and expands to include more fitness and diet features.
