Apple made all kinds of announcements for this fall during an almost two-hour event yesterday. Were you unable to watch the event? Or are you looking for an overview of the new products and services? We would like to briefly list the highlights for you.
The iPhone 11 is the successor to the iPhone XR and thus the entry-level model this year. Yet this is the most logical choice for the majority of consumers. The biggest improvement concerns the camera. The single camera has made way for a double: a 12-MP wide-angle and a 12-MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Zooming without loss of quality, wide landscapes and beautiful portraits are among the possibilities, and there is a special night mode.
The iPhone 11 has an A13 Bionic chip that is very efficient. Thanks to an improved TrueDepth camera, Face ID is 30 percent faster. And the battery lasts another hour longer than that of the iPhone XR. With a starting price of 809 euros, it is more competitively priced than the XR last year. You can order the iPhone 11 on Friday 13 September and it will be in stores on 20 September. You can then choose from an extensive color palette. If you are tired of that exuberance in the long run, you can also opt for a new iPhone 11 case.
iPhone 11 Pro (Max)
The iPhone 11 Pro is the top device of this year, available with a 5, 8 or 6.5-inch OLED screen. With this device, Apple seems to be targeting demanding users or professionals. This iPhone also has a new camera as the most striking change, with three instead of two cameras. The camera system consists of an ultra-wide-angle, a wide-angle and a telephoto lens. Just like the iPhone 11, it also has a special night mode.
In terms of design, there is also not much news under the sun here, although there is a new color (midnight green) and the glass on the back. has matte finish. The A13 Bionic processor makes the iPhone a lot more powerful than before and the battery has received a huge boost: 4 hours more for the Pro, and even 5 hours for the Pro Max. The iPhone 11 Pro is available from € 1159, the Pro Max from € 1259. Can be ordered from next Friday.
And a new ‘regular’ iPad has been announced again, the seventh generation again. The format is new this year: with 10.2 inches, it is just a bit larger than what you are used to with the regular iPad. Also new is the Smart Connector, to which you can connect an Apple Smart Keyboard. The iPad 2019, just like its predecessor, has an A10 Fusion chip. It is available from September 30 and the starting price is € 389.
Apple Watch Series 5
The Apple Watch Series 5 finally has a screen that is always on. The dial is dimmed when you raise your wrist, but the most important information – such as the time or information about your workout – remains visible. Thanks to a new and more efficient display, the battery lasts 18 hours more. Nice detail: a compass is built-in. The watch costs 449 and is available from September 20.
