Envision Technologies has launched AI-powered glasses. The glasses ensure that blind and partially sighted people gain more independence and have access to the visual information around them.

How does Envision Glasses

Envision Glasses software uses artificial intelligence to extract information from images and then speaks the images out loud so that the user has a better understanding of his or her environment. Envision is able to recognize text in more than 60 languages.

Among other things, blind and visually impaired users can read documents at home or at work, check labels while shopping, easily recognize their friends, find personal belongings at home, use public transport and video call someone in real time.

Envision Glasses combines functionalities such as ‘read, find, identify and call’ with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to help users ‘see’ the world around them through spoken word.

Desire to help the blind and partially sighted

Envision Technologies was born out of our desire to give blind and partially sighted people more independence and access to the visual world, including things that many of us take for granted, such as reading text from a book, newspaper, magazine, computer, tablet or smartphone screen, ”said Karthik Mahadevan, CEO and co-founder of Envision.

“Envision Glasses integrates our proprietary AI software with the high-performance, lightweight, enterprise version of Google Glass to provide the most robust and cost-effective visual support solution on the market today.”
