Acer will release HDMI 2.1 monitor with 4k144Hz panel early next year

Details of Acer’s first HDMI 2.1 monitor can be found at a Chinese web store. It is a 28 “monitor with a 4k panel and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The screen has an HDMI 2.1 connection and will be on the market at the beginning of 2021 for an equivalent of 1050 euros.

According to PCMonitors, the Acer XV282K KV is based on an IPS-type panel from Innolux, with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The screen will support FreeSync with a range of 48 to 144Hz. According to the specifications, the panel can display 90 percent of the dci-p3 color space and the screen has a brightness of 550cd / m². The peak brightness is even higher, because the monitor has a Display HDR600 certification. To qualify for this, a peak brightness of at least 600cd / m² is required.

The screen has two HDMI 2.1 connections and a DisplayPort 1.4 connection with DSC support. The XV282K is Acer’s first monitor with an HDMI 2.1 port and is offered at a Chinese webshop for 8,499 yuan. Converted that is about 1050 euros. The screen will not be delivered until January next year.

Other manufacturers will also release HDMI 2.1 monitors in the coming months. MMD will release 27 “, 31” and 55 “Philips monitors, all with a 4k panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. These monitors would be released around the release of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and S. Asus brings the end this year monitors 27 “, 32” and 43 “with an HDMI 2.1 connection. These screens will have 4k panels and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
