Acer comes with 14 “Chromebook in aluminum housing for 299 euros

Acer has announced a 14″ Chromebook with an aluminum housing. There will be variants with a full-HD and an HD panel. The device is equipped with an Intel Celeron N3060 processor, a dual-core with a speed of 1.6GHz and a maximum burst frequency of 2.48GHz.

The Acer Chromebook 14 is 17mm thick and weighs 1.55kg. There are two USB 3.1 ports on the housing. There is also an HDMI connection and the Chromebook has bluetooth 4.2. At the top of the screen is a webcam with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Furthermore, there are stereo speakers and a microphone integrated into the housing.

There will be several variants of the Acer Chromebook 14 CB3-431, including a version with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a variant with 1366×768 pixels. In both cases it is a 14 “ips panel. Acer claims that the battery of the full-HD model will last for twelve hours, with the HD model that would be fourteen hours. There will be configurations with 16 or 32GB emmc flash memory and 2 or 4GB lpddr3 ram.All models have a 2×2 mimo-wifi-ac module.

Acer Benelux will deliver the Chromebook 14 from May for prices from 299 euros. The exact configuration that buyers will get for that amount is unknown at the time of writing.

Update 15.44: Acer announces that three models will appear in the Benelux. The version that costs 299 euros has an HD screen, 2GB ram and 16GB storage space. A variant with the same specs but 4GB of ram is sold for 329 euros. The model with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and full-HD screen has a suggested retail price of 369 euros.
